Towards Dance Scholarships.
Definition of the Terms of the Scholarships Audition in Detail:
Audition will be held at Dance Trends School of Dance and Music. Entry forms are limited to new students only, (not presently enrolled in Dance Trends). There will be one entry form per person. Each candidate is required to audition in order to be considered for the scholarship prize. Prizes cannot be redeemed for cash, or transferred to other students. Awardees will be required to pay a good faith deposit of $100, which will be refunded upon the completion of the 2007/08 school year, and the completion of competing on behalf of Dance Trends at designated competitions.
There will be up to ten scholarship certificates awarded, towards company classes. The judging panel will consist of dance professionals. Each Scholarship certificate includes: Price of dance classes for the 2007-08 school year for company participation, and all classes required for that company. All other expenses not specifically mentioned herein including, without limitation, additional dance classes, rehearsals, private lessons, costume costs, competition registration fee, and transportation to and from competitions, are the responsibility of the winners. Winners will be notified by telephone, mail or email.
Audition Rules:
Participants must be on time and must audition for each company they are interested in.Participants will audition in front of a panel of dance professionals. Finalists will be selected in each of four categories: Ballet, Tap, Jazz, and Hip Hop. There will be a group audition for each participant. Finalists will be called back to perform a solo routine for the judges. Music: Each participant must bring their own music for their solo, on CD.

What Is Being Judged:
Dance technique, stage presence, ability to pick up new routine.
Requirements For The Dance Piece (Length, Costume, Etc.):
Each participant must have prepared a solo number in length of 4-8 counts, that’s corresponding with Company they auditioning for. Costumes must be in good taste.
What Expenses Are Covered By Each Scholarship?

June 17 th 2006. “Dance Trends Has Got Rhythm”
As many of you know, Dance Trends School of Dance and Music has been experiencing rapid growth over the past two and a half years. The addition of new programs including music and voice and cotillion, has been accelerated by another exciting addition.
We are proud to announce that Got Rhythm Dance Studio has recently merged with Dance Trends. With this merger comes the expansion of Dance Trends already full schedule, to include advanced classes in ballet, pointe, jazz, lyrical, tap and hip-hop. We are thrilled to announce that Dance Trends will be adding Company classes. With the merger of Got Rhythm Dance come 11 dance companies that perform and compete in dance competitions This means that Dance Trends now will be offering a full range of dance instruction, from pre-dance to professional levels.
There has been great interest among many of our older students to expand into more advanced and challenging forms of dance. We encourage all who are interested to inquire at the front desk for our Summer and Fall Schedule of Company classes.
Registration is now open for all Summer and Fall classes. Please come in and pick up a schedule.
